(Each gun starts at a 5 and will go up and down from there) So I just got home from work not to long ago and after I enjoyed hearing about the sox winning their 7th in a row i opened up my package from ASGI. The package was taped like it was meant to keep me out of it and the actual box that the Gun was in was sort of disappointing. There was no foam, only plastic! -1.
So now I see the gun. First off, the gun is beautiful. Despite my distaste for tan guns, I really really like this one. The only thing I don't like about the gun is the logo. The combat machine logo is pitiful looking and I would have preferred the Marine logo or the Ranger logo. Oh well. Over all I give it a +1 for looks.
The feel of the gun was quite surprising. Comparing it to the Echo1 stag arms that belongs to Cody, the feel of the Combat machine dominates in comparison. The plastic body feels much more durable and less glossy than the Echo1. Unfortunately, the Echo1 is better than the Combat machine in a few ways. The stock on the CM is very wobbly and the top rail is plastic!!!!!!!! The Echo1 rail is metal! BUT there is absolutely no wobble on the front receiver. BUT the magazine wobbles around in the mag well like it really isn't in there. Both the G&G magazine that was given to me and the MAG brand mags and the King Arms mags all wobble!. The overall feel of the gun gets no score. Its amazing but it has its downsides. And although the magazine feeds well and stays in there, it still feels like its going to fall out and that plastic rail is blah! So no score.
Now for the internals. Despite the plastic body, it is made like a metal gun. Their is a plastic one piece hop up that makes me feel confident although the barrel feels like a sheet of aluminum. The crown is pathetic and frankly, it seems like they melted down pot metal and turned it into a tube. But you cant judge a book by its cover. The gearbox and the motor are both G&G. Its basically Demski's gun with a measly plastic body. The weird thing is that the cylinder is blue. Meaning that although the internals are probably near the same as the high quality G&G gear box, they might not be. BUT the G&G gear box shell shows me signs of hope and because of the internal beauty +2.
Accuracy test at 40ft showed some horrible results. Shooting at a 6" by 6" piece of cardboard, only 7 out of 10 shots made it and the grouping was horrible.
7 out of ten is the score I give this gun. Its a great base gun for anyone who wants to be creative, and with an m4 system its super easy to do.
