Storyline
February
Allied Coalition causalities as a result of the North Korean offensive are heavy, up to 65% in frontline unit positions. The Allied Coalition advance to push back the DPRK offensive near the ‘bulge’ and stabilize the line long enough to grant surviving members of the 184th Airborne safe passage succeed. Surviving 184th paratroopers report seeing unidentified soldiers moving in heavily armored transport vehicles towards the frontline; coalition intelligence is unable to confirm.
The U.S. 10th Mountain Division arrives to replace highly depleted and shell-shocked troops. Consistent North Korean artillery bombardment and scouting parties harass freshly dug-in positions and supply convoys. As temperatures drop to -20 degrees Fahrenheit and under the cover of blinding snowstorms, ill-supplied, battle weary, and isolated allied positions are overrun…
March
Sensing that their window for winter attacks was drawing to a close, the newly arrived and well equipped 7th Special Operations Division begins to assault coalition positions with immeasurable brutality. Using a combination of artillery and battlefield chemical weapons, the 7th Division begins to systematically breach the already weakened front line.
North Korean armor supported by the 21st Infantry Division effectively breaches the DMZ near Yeoncheon. ROK soldiers destined for frontline engagements are diverted to support the ailing coalition positions near Yeoncheon. Temperatures rise to 15 degrees Fahrenheit.
April
In response to the stalemate in Korea, the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Special Armed Services Committee commission MACK (Military Assistance Command, Korea) to head-up and control all military operations on the Korean Peninsula.
Unseasonably warm spring temperatures cause winter snowfall to melt, turning the already lacking North Korean infrastructure into an impassible battlefield. Using the shifting weather conditions to their advantage, the 7th Division begins to plant mines on frequently trafficked allied convoy routes…
Further assaults by the Special Operations Division on front line positions are compounded by poor road conditions, gas attacks, poorly planned evacuation protocols. Additional North Korean infantry units flood into gaps in the front line caused by the 7th Divisions brutal assaults.
Portions of the line held by the severely weakened 10th Mountain Division fall under massive DPRK artillery fire and lightning fast infantry assaults. Forward observers report that 45% of all front line positions have been overrun; surviving units are reporting less than 30% troop strength…
